This “tour” was designed for the sole purpose of getting you into nature to hit pause for a bit
See this outing as an opportunity to take a break from your routine and stress to immerse and explore one of Chicago’s important nature areas with your camera / smartphone. I will teach you how photography of any level can be used to de-stress, shift your focus and be used as a tool in your mental wellbeing routine.
NOTE: This is not a city tour. The goal of this outing is to escape the skyscrapers, traffic and sounds of the urban environment without having to leave the city.
Chicago is third largest city in the US and landlocked in the Midwest region with skyscrapers and industry so you might not think “nature” when Chicago comes to mind. You might be surprised to learn it’s located directly on the North American major bird migration path as well as being a major throughway between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. We have dozens of beaches and bike/run/walk paths along Lake Michigan’s lakefront, nature preserves, bird sanctuaries, parks with skyline views and more!

Note: Urban Nature, One Focus, Half Day and Total Immersion Tours are all private and custom. You (and your guests, if applicable) will be the only one on your tour

Consider booking a tour of one of Chicago’s neighborhoods or surrounding downtown areas during these major city events:
- July 4-8, 2024 – July 4th Celebrations and NASCAR — TTAL will not operate in Millennium Park, Grant, Chicago Loop, Transit in these areas (where possible)
- July 28-August 5, 2024 – Lollapalooza — TTAL will not operate in Chicago South Loop, Millennium Park/“The Bean”, Grant Park/Buckingham Fountain, limited Museum Campus access
- August 19-22, 2024 – Democratic National Convention — This is being held on the Near West Side and not expected to affect traversing the core downtown but may affect some transportation availability. Anticipate protests at various government locations
TIP: This is a walking photography tour, not a technical workshop. To benefit you the most it is advised you understand the basics of photography such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed and other settings on your camera prior to your tour. This is a perfect opportunity to put those lessons to practice in an urban setting.
