This “tour” was designed to provide you an opportunity to take a break from your routine and stress to immerse and explore Chicago’s important nature areas with your camera / smartphone. We will work together on some key photography practices and exercises (not workout exercises, though happy to add in if desired) that will also send you back to your day / week feeling refreshed and even seeing more creatively.
Chicago is third largest city in the US and landlocked in the Midwest region with skyscrapers and industry so you might not think “nature” when Chicago comes to mind. You might be surprised to learn it’s located directly on the North American bird migration path as well as being a major throughway between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. We have dozens of beaches and bike/run/walk paths along Lake Michigan’s lakefront, nature preserves, bird sanctuaries, parks with skyline views and more!
NOTE: Return clients of this tour will experience a different nature location each time

Note: Urban Nature, One Focus, Half Day and Total Immersion Tours are all private and custom. You (and your guests, if applicable) will be the only one on your tour

Consider booking a tour to explore neighborhoods outside core tourist areas during the following dates operating with location restrictions (including transit):
- July 22, 2023 – Beyonce — No Museum Campus or South Loop
- July 31-August 8, 2023 – Lollapalooza — No Chicago Loop, Millennium Park, Grant Park (including Buckingham Fountain), limited Museum Campus access
TIP: This is a walking photography tour, not a technical workshop. To benefit you the most it is advised you understand the basics of photography such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed and other settings on your camera prior to your tour. This is a perfect opportunity to put those lessons to practice in an urban setting.
