THE MOST REQUESTED OPTION!
The HALF-DAY Tour gives you the feel of being a local Chicagoan and a local photographer. Whether you prefer the iconic Chicago tourist locations or the “locals” version with some of our unique and hidden gems, you’ll find unique perspectives and be challenged to photograph differently than before
Chicago is larger than people realize! If you’d like more than a walking tour – see more locations, go further out from the central area, race to chase changing light – you’ll want either a Ventra transit pass or download Curb / Uber / Lyft app for our adventure. Whichever method you decide, let Teresa know in the Build Your Tour questionnaire so she may plan the route accordingly. If you have your own Ventra card or have purchased one for the rest of your visit, bring it along!
START / END LOCATIONS: Tour start / end locations are not the same location. Not to worry, we either end somewhere not far from where we began (or your hotel) depending on your plans and comfort level.

*** 2024 SEASON NOTES ***
Consider booking a tour of one of Chicago’s neighborhoods or surrounding downtown areas during these major city events:
- September 14-15, 2024 – El Grito Chicago (Mexican Independence Day Festival)
- October 13, 2024 (morning) – Chicago Marathon
- November 15, 2024 (late afternoon/evening) – Chicago Christmas Tree Lighting
TIP #1: This is a walking photography tour, not a technical “Fundamentals of Photography” workshop. To benefit you the most it is advised you understand the basics of photography such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed and other settings on your camera prior to your tour. This is a perfect opportunity to put those lessons to practice in an urban setting.
TIP #2: If you’re a light chaser, check HERE for sunrise, sunset and Blue Hour times before deciding your start time. Select your travel month. The dates are along the left side of the chart. On this site, Blue Hour would be considered the “Civil Twilight” Start or End.
